Expect to pay more for the equipment itself (you may have to buy through certain authorized dealers); expect to pay higher interest rates, and possibly other signing fees and prepayment fees as well. In some cases you may be paying significantly higher than you can afford!

Another option to getting laptop financing with bad credit is to get a bad credit card card, and purchase a laptop with the card. Some credit card deals are reasonable, and could be less than you are paying to get a laptop with bad credit. Even with a small credit card balance, in the range of $300 to $500, there are desktop laptop deals now that can get you a laptop within that price range.

Here's another option though: Considering you can find really cheap laptops and netbooks, under $400, why not find a part time job to pay for it? Picking up some extra work, even at minimum wage, means that within a couple weeks you can have your new laptop even with bad credit. Or, sell something else you have, using eBay or Craigslist or some other service, where you can get rid of an old computer, video games, DVDs, old appliances or just about anything else to raise some extra cash. You can also find used laptops on eBay and on Craigslist that will save you even more. And if you go for a desktop, the prices are way lower than laptop and netbook prices. Shop around, look for used or refurbished, and save money. You'll be able to take advantage of falling prices and buy your laptop on credit in no time!
